Job Vacancy for Programme Support Worker

  • New Beginnings, Greater Manchester

  • £18,500 per annum

  • 28 hours post, funded for 3 years.

Job Description

New Beginnings Greater Manchester is looking for a skilled post programme support worker who is not only passionate about supporting parents in the child protection system but also cares about keeping families together. This is a new role within our rapidly expanding organisation that has been introduced so that parents who have completed the 24 week New Beginnings programme can continue to receive support afterwards. This role will therefore involve working with parents who have, or still are, receiving social care intervention as a result of their children being involved in the child protection system. All of the parents New Beginnings works with have suffered significant harm themselves at some point in their lives, therefore it is important that the post programme support worker practises, and is familiar with, a trauma informed approach. We are looking for someone who has experience of working with adults receiving support or parents whose children are involved with statutory services. Your role will mean that you will be working alongside a strong team of social workers; therapeutic practitioners; peer mentors; students and trustees.
